MCP server
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server lets Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible AI assistants control your VPS through natural-language conversation.
Coming soon — repo: github.com/vps-serverhost/mcp-server
Install
npm install -g @vpsserverhost/mcp
Configure
In your Claude Desktop config (~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
on macOS):
{
"mcpServers": {
"vps-serverhost": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@vpsserverhost/mcp"],
"env": {
"VPSSH_API_TOKEN": "pat_live_…"
}
}
}
}
Available tools
Non-destructive (no confirmation needed):
list_servers,get_server,get_vnc_urllist_ptr_records,sync_ptr_recordlist_invoices,list_services,list_tickets,list_domains
Destructive (assistant will elicit your confirmation):
reboot_server,rebuild_server🛑,create_snapshot,restore_snapshot🛑set_ptr_record,set_nameservers,set_domain_lockpay_invoice🛑,cancel_service🛑,upgrade_service
Step-up is still required
Tools marked 🛑 require an X-Confirm-Token just like the REST API. The MCP
server prompts you for re-authentication when needed — destructive actions
do not bypass step-up.
